BUFFALO, NY - The at-large bids were released by the NCAA on Tuesday and Sam Schuyler earned a trip to St. Louis. It is the first time the UB heavyweight is an NCAA qualifier. He will join Michael Petite who punched his ticket by winning the true-fourth match at the Mid-American Conference Championships on February 27.
Schuyler went 8-2 on the season, his first as a heavyweight. He was a perfect 3-0 in duals and went 4-2 at the MAC Championships to finish in fifth place.
Schuyler and Petite will travel to St. Louis for the NCAA Championships that begin on March 18 at the Enterprise Center. It will be the first trip to the NCAAs for both wrestlers.
