ELMIRA, N.Y - The Elmira College men's wrestling program will eagerly make its debut on the mat on November 7 after last year's wrestling campaign for the Purple & Gold was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021-22 schedule features eight championship events and one quad meet.
After assuming head coaching duties for the Soaring Eagles over the summer, Cody Griswold has a complete schedule set for this winter. EC will open its campaign at the Lycoming Invite on Sunday, November 7 at 9:00 a.m. The Purple & Gold will also participate at the New York State Intercollegiate Championships on Saturday, November 20.
Following the Thanksgiving Break, the Soaring Eagles will return to the mat on Saturday, December 4 at 9:00 a.m. to compete in the Blue Jay Classic hosted by Elizabethtown College.
The Soaring Eagles return to the mat following holiday break on Saturday, January 15 at the Empire Conference Championships in Oswego, New York. The lone quad meet for EC will feature Penn College, Lackawanna College, and will be hosted by Wilkes University on Sunday, January 30.
EC will head to the John Summa Invitational in Barea, Ohio on Saturday, February 5, and the NCAA Mid-Southeast Futures Championship on Saturday, February 19. The NCAA Mid-East Regionals will be held on February 25-26 and will determine the qualifiers for the 2022 NCAA DIII Wrestling Championships. The event will be held March 11-12 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Schedule Highlights

- The 52nd Annual New York State Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships will be hosted by SUNY Cortland at Whitney T. Corey Gymnasium.
