The SUNY Cortland Athletics Department seeks applications for head coach of an NCAA Division III Wrestling program. This is a full-time position with a 9.5-month (8/15-5/31) period of professional obligation.
The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the Men's Wrestling program, including, but not limited to: practice preparation, skill instruction, on-court coaching, player development recruiting, budget management, team travel, scheduling, academic success and student-athlete welfare.
Qualifications: a bachelor's degree and three years' experience coaching wrestling at the college level is required. A bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sport Management, Exercise Science or a related field and/or; supervisory experience or evidence of ability to recruit and select staff, encourage professional growth, communicate and delegate duties, analyze staff effectiveness, evaluate assistants, problem-solve, lead a staff who bring skill and integrity to the program, and; maintain discipline, morale and cooperation is preferred. A master's degree and five years of wrestling coaching experience at an NCAA institution is highly preferred.
