Boonville native and 2016 Adirondack Central graduate Derek Spann has been hired as an assistant coach for the SUNY Buffalo Bulls NCAA Division I wrestling team beginning with the 2022-23 season.
According to Buffalo head wrestling coach John Stutzman, Spann was an "easy target" as a candidate to fill a new opening on the coaching staff. Stutzman said "and success both on and off the mat while here at UB was inspiring and now he gets to share that knowledge with the next generation."
