Brockport State Drops Dual Meet to Oswego, 24-19, on the Road

Oswego, NY - The SUNY Brockport wrestling team lost to Oswego on the road, 24-19, in a dual meet. Brockport is now 0-1 in duals to start the season.

Matt Caccamise scored six points for the Golden Eagles with a fall over Joey Ribitzki in the 133-weight division. Caccamise finished off his opponent in 3:25.

At 141, Francis Whitehouse earned the, 5-1, decision against Oswego's Billy Piatti. Whitehouse added three more points to the tally for the Green and Gold.

Elijah Sims got in on the action with three points for the squad as well. Sims won his matchup in the 149-weight class by a, 4-2, decision.

Michael Sullivan was able to score four big points competing at 197, with an 8-0 major decision.

Heavyweight Joe Yanis earned the, 6-0, decision over Kevin Arriaza in the 285-weight division. Yanis scored three points for the team.

Marquis Larmond won a, 6-2, decision in a 149-weight class bout which was unscored.

The Golden Eagles came up just five points shy of defeating the Oswego State Lakers on Sunday. They now begin to prepare for the Empire 8 Wrestling Conference Championships on Saturday, November 19th.
