BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo wrestling team won the final six matches of the night to defeat Gannon, 25-16, at Alumni Arena on Friday.
Gannon won the first four matches of the bout to the take a 16-0 lead. Michael Petite started the comeback with a 10-9 decision over Dom Means at 157.
Ty Raines followed by making easy work of Robert Boley at 165. Raines was awarded a takedown with one second left in the third period to earn the 28-13 technical fall.
After Jay Nivison earned an overtime win over Cole Casilio at 174, the Bulls were able to get bonus points in their next two bouts.
Giuseppe Hoose won by tech fall over Anthony Glessner at 184 and then Eli Sherren barely broke a sweat, pinning Eddie Ferrell in just 1:58 of the first period in the 197 match.
Greg Hodulick closed things out for the Bulls with a 4-3 decision over Eli Reese in the heavyweight bout.
"Hats off to Gannon. They came out and wrestled hard," head coach John Stutzman said. "We were lucky to get the win tonight. The guys up top came through."
The Bulls improved to 3-6 with the win and will next play at North Dakota State next Sunday.
