LOCK HAVEN, PA. - In its first dual action since returning from Michigan, the Elmira College women's wrestling program faced No. 10 Lock Haven University on Thursday inside Thomas Fieldhouse. The Bald Eagles would come away victorious against the Soaring Eagles 37-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Soaring Eagles opened the bout with a victory via forfeit as Taylor Goguen '26 would get the win at 101 pounds to make it 5-0 in favor of Elmira. Lock Haven quickly knotted the score in the match following a pin at 109 pounds.
Lock Haven stretched its lead in the match to 13-6 following a pair of victories via tech fall at 116 pounds and 123 pounds. Ariyanna Orosco '26 would get a point in the match for Elmira after tallying four points wrestling at 123 pounds.
Hazel Dahlquist '25 would win her bout wrestling at 170 pounds for the Soaring Eagles via a forfeit by Lock Haven. The Bald Eagles also won a pair of bouts at 130 pounds and 143 pounds via forfeit.
Tayana Labady '25 closed the match for the Soaring Eagles wrestling at 191 pounds. Labady jumped out to an early lead in her bout and would go up 4-0 against Lock Haven's Trinity Monaghan. The momentum in the bout would turn the way of the Bald Eagles just past the four-minute mark as Monaghan secured the pin to secure the victory for Lock Haven.

The Purple & Gold return to the mat on Sunday, December 4 as Elmira will take part in the NCWWC Northeast Regional Duals on the campus of Gannon University. The tournament will consist of programs from across Region I and will award team championships for first, second, and third place.
