With overall numbers a bit down, the Salamanca varsity wrestling team started the season with two distinct groups: seasoned veterans and green newcomers.
But both the experienced grapplers and those adapting to the varsity level have shown progress from 2022 into early 2023 this winter, coach Keith Jones said, evidenced by the team's first dual victory of the season Jan. 11 against Dunkirk.
