With girls wrestling on the rise, how close is New York to sanctioning it as a sport?

Port Jervis freshman Charlie Wylie vividly remembers her first foray into wrestling when she was 7 years old.

It was fun, competitive and similar to jiu jitsu, which she had trained in. But it quickly became apparent to her that there weren't other girls on the mat with her. From the practice room to the various competitions she competed in, wrestling was a male-dominated sport.

In many ways it still is, but girls wrestling has come a long way since then.
