ITHACA, N.Y. - The St. John Fisher University wrestling team competed in the NCAA Regionals hosted at Ithaca College on Friday night. The team had nine athletes compete.
In Round 1, Derek Bernardino placed 8th and scored four points for this team in the 133 weight class. During the consolation rounds he won by a 4-3 decision over his first opponent from Muhlenberg. He beat his second opponent from Penn. College of Tech by a 7-1 decision. During the prelims Mason Wersinger scored three points during his 149 weight class match up. He won by a 14-2 major decision over his opponent from the University of Scranton. Joshua Maslyn competed in this 157 weight class and won by pin fall at 3:26. He scored 2.5 points for his team. Logan Palmeri won his prelims again his opponent from Centenary University in the 165 weight class. He won by a 6-4 decision scoring 1 point for his team.
