BUFFALO, NY - Three University at Buffalo wrestlers were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team the league announced on Tuesday. Mason Bush, Noah Grover and Giuseppe Hoose were all honored by the conference.
Honored for the third straight season, Grover is a graduate student major in information and library science. He has a 3.71 grade point average. The Warsaw, NY native went 9-11 overall and 2-7 in duals on the season.
Hoose was honored for the second straight season. An environmental engineering major with a 3.85 grade point average, he was a national qualifier at 184 lbs. He finished the season 21-11 overall and 14-6 in duals.
Bush, a redshirt-freshman, was honored for the first time in his career. He is a business administration major with a 3.61 grade point average. Bush started the final 10 duals of the season for the Bulls at 125 lbs.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
