Cardinals Begin Season By Competing In Lycoming Invitational

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The St. John Fisher University wrestling team began their season on Sunday by competing in the Lycoming Invitational. The hosts, Lycoming College, welcomed an assortment of talented institutions such as, Cortland State, Utica University and Oneonta.

Carl Santariello won his first match of the day by 17-2 technical fall. Daniel Parkulo was victorious in his first two matches, starting with a fall at 2:18 and then a 17-4 major decision win.

Derek Bernardino tallied two wins on the day. It began with an 8-5 decision, before securing a 4-1 sudden victory.

Torin Bishop and Michael Rosenblum each had victories on the day. Bishop earned a 15-12 sudden victory and Rosenblum dominated in his win by way of a 17-1 technical fall. Michael Shelhart earned a pair of wins, his first was a 9-7 decision, and the next was a Fall at 1:32.

Trevor Sheehan and Paul Lichter both went 3-0 on the day. Sheehan won the first match by 8-2 decision, followed it with an 18-2 technical fall victory and ended with a win by Fall at 4:00. Lichter recorded wins by pin fall in his opening two matches and then completed the day with a 15-0 technical fall victory.
Colden Hardy had two victories by fall, the first coming at 1:55 and the second one happening at 3:17. Joshua Maslyn began his season with two wins, including a pin fall at 6:33 and then a 8-5 decision.

Jeremy Devine was 3-0 on the day as well, doing so with three pin fall victories. Otto Davidson was strong in his opening matches. He recorded a 10-6 decision in his opening match before earning a 17-2 technical fall.

Ryleigh Duryee completed the day 4-0, with two wins by fall, a 3-0 decision and a 23-7 technical fall.

Nathan Coon was able to bounce back and win his final two matches by decision. The first was 12-5, and the next was 5-1.

Braydon Vandenberg tallied three victories. The first was a 10-9 decision, that was followed by a fall at 0:36 and the final win was another decision this time it was 9-3.

Jackson Burns added three wins to the teams total, all by pin fall. The first was at 3:50, the second was only 0:27 and the final win was at the 3:33 mark.
Up next for Fisher is the W&J Invitational, hosted by Washington and Jefferson. The competition will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11 with a projected start time of 9 a.m.
