A pair of local powerhouse wrestling programs turned in fine performances over the weekend to kick off their seasons.

The Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama/Clymer team traveled to Byron-Bergen where it came away with a dominant tournament title, highlighted by four individual championships, while Falconer/Cassadaga Valley recorded an individual title at the Bill Andersen Memorial at Cicero-North Syracuse and a pair of top finishes at the Wellsville Tournament.
