SYRACUSE - Gabriella Barone admitted her emotions sometimes got in the way.
It even was a barrier on her way towards winning a state championship as a seventh-grader for Niagara Wheatfield. But now a year older, Barone matured, learned how to keep her composure and tackled the mental aspect of competing on big stages.
