Host Niagara County Community College won its 26th Region III title during this past weekend's annual Northeast District Championships. The Thunderwolves amassed 42.0 points, which bested local rival Jamestown Community College (22.0). Nassau Community College (116.5), meanwhile, won the overall district title.
Individually, NCCC had six grapplers finish as runner-up in their respective weight classes: Joseph Florance (125), Mike Catanzaro (133), Renso Montalvo (149), Kace Cook (157), Quinn Brown (165) and Cameron Hall (197).
Florance, Catanzaro, Montalvo and Cook - based on their regular-season body of work - were declared qualifiers for the NJCAA Championships, which are slated for March 1-2 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
