ALBANY - Hard work pays off. Casper Stewart is proof positive of that.
After reaching the state semifinal each of the past two seasons, the Batavia/Attica senior grappler finished the job he set out to complete in claiming the Division II 145-pound title at Saturday's New York State Public High School Athletic Association Wrestling Championships. The Military Academy at West Point commit dispatched Greenville's Kieran Cullen by a 4-2 decision to reach the top of the podium and claim his first-ever NYSPHSAA title, which is the first state crown for a Batavia High School wrestler in the program's long history.
