Oswego State's Goss and Grygas Punch their Ticket to the NCAA Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Your SUNY Oswego men's wrestling was ready for day 2 of regionals at RIT who is the host of the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Mideast Regional Championships.

The Laker wrestling team is currently 7th out of 21 at the NCAA Mideast Regional with freshman Gabe Goss and senior Charlie Grygas punching their tickets to the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships.

Gabe Goss the number 4 seed, upset the top seed 7-4 in the semi-finals to advance to the finals at 141 where he dropped an 8-1 decision. Grygas the top seed and defending Regional Champion advanced to the finals with a 9-2 decision. Grygas medical forfeited the championship match. Goss and Grygas will represent Oswego State in LaCrosse, WI on Friday & Saturday, March 15-16. Four other Lakers made the podium led by Michael Santore who finished 5th at 133 lbs. compiling a 5-2 record over the two-day event. At 149 lbs. Tyler Rossini finished 7th with a 3-2 record. Freshman Landon Smith was 7th at 157 lbs. with a 4-2 record while senior Anthony Cascen rounded out the Laker place winners with a 7th place finish at 197 lbs. and a 3-2 record. Oswego State finished in 7th place out of 21 teams with 85.5 points.
