Chippewas Win First MAC Wrestling Title in 12 Years!

KENT, OH -- The Central Michigan men's wrestling team brought home the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship for the first time in 12 years today at the 2024 MAC Championships hosted by Kent State.

Led by individual champion, Alex Cramer, along with nine total place winners the Chippewas tallied 131.0 points, close behind was Rider with 114.5. The Chippewas have now won 17 total team titles, with 15 coming under the guidance of Head Coach Tom Borelli.

Central Michigan's Tom Borrelli was named MAC Coach of the Year, while Lock Haven's Wyatt Henson and Ohio's Peyten Kellar earned the Tournament Most Outstanding Co-Wrestler honors.

The 2024 NCAA Division I National Championships will take place March 21-23 in Kansas City, Missouri. The NCAA will release additional at-large NCAA tournament qualifiers on Wednesday, March 13.
