SUNY Niagara's Te'Shaun Mathews was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the freshman/sophomore division at this past Saturday's New York State Collegiate Championships hosted by SUNY Oneonta.
The 157-pound freshman went 4-0 in his bracket, including three victories via pinfall. Mathews needed just 1:54 to pin Ryley Monica (SUNY Oneonta) in the championship bout.
Sophomore Michael Syposs finished third in the same bracket. Syposs won four matches by technical fall.
Sophomore Mike Catanzaro took fourth in the 133-pound Open division, finishing with a 2-2 mark.
The Wolves return to the mats on Dec. 6 & 7 for their annual Niagara Duals and Thunderwolves Open.
