EDWARDSVILLE, IL – The University at Buffalo wrestling team competed in their final dual of the calendar year on Friday, losing at SIU-Edwardsville, 28-10.
Starting at 197, the Cougars won the first six matches of the dual to take control.
Kaleb Burgess got the Bulls on the board with an 11-1 major decision over Brock Woodcock at 157. It was Burgess' fifth straight dual win.
Hunter Shaut followed with a 5-4 decision over Bradley Gillum. Shaut's takedown with less than a minute to go in the third period was the difference in the match.
Marcus Petite earned a 2-1 sudden victory over Deron Pulliam at 184. A stall call on Pulliam in overtime gave the win to Petite, his fifth straight.
The Bulls will return to action on Jan. 10 at the F&M Open.
