For a long time, if you were a female wrestler who wanted to compete for your school, you had to accept certain truths.
Without an official infrastructure specifically for girls’ wrestling, those young women interested in the sport had to join the boys’ teams, learn the boys’ style of wrestling, and if they were going to have any success, would have to do so against the boys.
It was a task that only a few were up for, and there was no greater feeling than being a member of that select group of female wrestlers to prove to have what it takes.
