ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 12 Cornell wrestling team travels to Columbia to face No. 19 Missouri at 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the Hearnes Center.
The Big Red will be part of Mizzou's Beauty and the Beast match in collaboration with Mizzou Gymnastics. The event will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Tigers are currently ranked No. 19 in the NWCA after seven duals with a record of 2-5, they have faced five ranked teams (No.7 Virginia Tech, No. 16 Illinois, No. 10 Northern Iowa, No. 19 Little Rock and No. 1 Penn State) so far this season and have six ranked teams remaining on the schedule (No.12 Cornell, No.15 Stanford, No.22 West Virginia, No.21 Oklahoma, No.3 Oklahoma State and No.13 Iowa State)
Mizzou returned seven national qualifiers from last season, Keegan O'Toole, Rocky Elam, Noah Surtin, Kade Moore, Josh Edmond, Logan Gioffre and Colton Hawks. O'Toole and Elam return for their final season after becoming four-time All-Americans. Seven wrestlers are ranked with O'Toole at the top of the 174lb weight class.
Missouri is 9-4 over the Big Red. In the last meeting on Jan. 28 of last year, Cornell beat the Tigers 20-16 at home.
LAST SEASON VS MISSOURI
The Big Red won six matches, all against ranked opponents, en route to a 20-16 win over the Tigers, who suffered their first dual loss this season. Cornell matched its highest-ranked win in program history and earned its highest-ranked victory in a home dual.
No. 8 Cardenas (197 pounds) sealed the victory for Big Red with a 4-0 win over No. 3 Rocky Elam, a three-time NCAA All-American. Cornell rallied behind resilient performances from No. 2 Vito Arujau (133 pounds) and No. 13 Vince Cornella (141 pounds). Arujau trailed No. 27 Kade Moore 8-3 in the third period before recording two consecutive takedowns and riding the match out for the 10-9 decision. In the next match, Cornella held on for a 9-6 victory over No. 23 Joshua Edmond after an injury stoppage in the third period.
Meyer Shapiro, ranked No. 12 at 157 pounds earned a 13-4 victory over three-time All-American Brock Mauller, who came into the dual ranked No. 5.
At 149 pounds, No. 28 Ethan Fernandez beat Zeke Seltzer by decision. No. 9 Chris Foca (184 pounds) took down No. 11 Clayton Whiting by major decision to put Cornell ahead 17-13, and Cardenas finished it for Cornell from there.

No. 2 Meyer Shapiro returned to the mat for the Big Red with an 18-3 victory over No.10 Ed Scott that included 4:33 minutes of riding time and earned six team points.
No. 5 Julian Ramirez and No. 9 Chris Foca made their season debuts, both coming away with a win. Rameriz claimed a takedown over No.32 Derek Fields with 10 seconds left in the first period then added an escape to take his 165lb match 4-1. Foca finished off the dual in the 184-weight class for Cornell with a 6-2 win over No. 13 Dylan Fishback. He started his bout with a takedown and added an escape and stall points in the second period then held his dominance in the third to earn his sixth point with riding time.
Josh Saunders and Ethan Fernandez also added points to the Big Red's total with decision wins.
