Elmira College Women’s Wrestling Places 10th at NWCA National Dual Meet Championships

CEDAR FALLS, IA – The Elmira College women's wrestling program recorded a 10th-place finish on Saturday at the 2025 NWCA National Dual Meet Championships as the Soaring Eagles notched a 29-16 victory against Mount Olive before dropping a 38-8 decision against Emmanuel University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
No. 13 Elmira would be matched up against the University of Mount Olive Trojans in a semifinal match to determine who would earn the right to wrestle for 9th place at the NWCA Dual Championships.

The Trojans opened with victories at 103, 117, and 124 pounds, while Abby Duke '26 notched a 12-8 decision for the Soaring Eagles at 110 pounds.
Trailing the match 15-3, Gabby Bradigan '26 started the rally for the Purple & Gold with a 6-0 decision at 131 pounds to trim the deficit to 15-6. Ragan Retell '28 and Zoey Lints '27 followed with tech fall victories to pull Elmira within a 16-14 margin of the Trojans.

Skylah Chakouian '25 would give the Soaring Eagles the lead for good in the match with a huge pin in 1:07 wrestling at 160 pounds for Elmira. Hazel Dahlquist '25 and Tayana Labady '25 closed the match with pins of their own at 180 and 207 pounds to secure the 29-16 victory for the Soaring Eagles.
The Soaring Eagles advanced to the 9th-place match to face No. 12 Emmanuel University (GA) after Emmanuel defeated Sacred Heart in its previous match.

Lints recorded the lone victory for Elmira at 145 pounds with a pin against Kendra Heroch in 2:54.

Elmira also recorded a point from Duke, Gabby Bradigan '26, and Retell as they each dropped decisions at 110, 131, and 138 pounds.

UP NEXT: The Soaring Eagles return to the mat on Saturday morning. At 9:00 a.m., Elmira will face the University of Mount Olive in the 9th through 12th place bracket. With two wins on Saturday, Elmira could finish as high as 9th overall in the tournament.
