LANCASTER, PA – It was a solid showing for the University at Buffalo wrestling team at the David H. Lehman '68 F&M Open on Friday. The Bulls placed two on the podium and two others had five wins on the day.
Hunter Shaut placed sixth at 165 pounds. The graduate student went 5-2 on the day.
At 174, Rafael Knapp also placed sixth after going 3-2 on the day.
Kaleb Burgess (157) and Sam Ewing (149) didn't place, but both went 5-1 on the day and were forced to stop after reaching their six-match limit.
After dropping his first bout, Burgess went on a tear, winning his next three matches with first-period pins. He added an 11-2 major decision and 5-0 decision to cap his day.
Ewing was equally impressive, winning three by tech fall and two by major decision.
