ERIE, Pa. — The St. John Fisher University wrestling team beat Penn State Behrend in a dual for the third straight year with a 26-11 win on Saturday night at the Junker Center.
The Cardinals improved to 6-2 overall in dual action with their third straight victory. Penn State Behrend fell to 8-6.
The Cardinals got out to a 7-0 lead as Daniel Parkulo beat Zach Dellinger 18-5 by major decision at 125 pounds and Derek Bernardino took down Isaac Meyers 8-2 by decision. Behrend won the next two matches to take an 8-7 lead but didn't win another until Fisher had already secured the dual victory.
The Cardinals won four straight matches after Steffan Lynch beat Justin Coiteux by technical fall at 149 pounds. Paul Lichter (157) and Jeremy Devine earned bonus points for the Cardinals with a technical fall and a pin, respectively.
Trevor Sheehan (174) and Charlie Rossner (184) beat their opponents by a decision before Nolan Fenton beat Braydon Vandenberg by decision at 197. Jackson Burns capped the dual with a 5-3 win over Matthew Caldwell at 285.
