NYSPHSAA Set For 7th Annual Dual Meet Wrestling Championships at SRC Arena on the campus of Onondaga Community College

Story LinksLatham, NY- The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Dual Meet Wrestling State Championship returns to the SRC Arena on the campus of Onondaga Community College in Syracuse on Saturday, February 1st. This is the 7th year of the Dual Meet Wrestling Championships—a one-day event.

In 2024, Division 1 winner, Plainedge (Section VIII) prevailed over powerhouse Minisink Valley (Section IX), for the state title. The Division 2 team champion was Tioga (Section IV) claiming its 3rd championship in a row defeating John Glenn (Section XI). John Glenn will return to the state tournament as the #1 seed after a dominant regular season. Also returning from the 2024 tournament are Niagara Wheatfield (VI), Minisink Valley (IX), Plainedge (VIII), Horseheads (IV), Chautauqua Lake (VI), Port Jervis (IX) and Gouverneur (X).

“The NYSPHSAA Staff and Wrestling State Committee are both very excited for this year's Dual Meet State Championships hosted by SRC Arena in Syracuse,” said Marty Sherman, NYSPHSAA State Wrestling Coordinator. “Some of the elite teams across New York State will be competing and will make this event exciting to watch whether you’re a parent or casual fan. Its been seven years of this championship and is great event to spend the day watching at the arena.”

The event will see 24 teams competing in 2 divisions, comprised from the 11 NYSPHSAA sections. Each section will send a representative for each division (excluding Section VII and X in Division 1) and there are also three at-large entries for Division 1 and one at-large entry for Division 2. Each team will compete in three pool play matches with the top four teams in each division advancing to the semifinals.

Here are the teams competing in the 2025 NYSPHSAA Dual Meet Wrestling Tournament:

Division 1 – Minisink Valley (IX), Horseheads (IV), Farmingdale (VIII), Long Beach (VIII), Webster-Shroeder (V), Shenendehowa (2), Saratoga Springs (2), Briarcliff-BH-V-W (I), Niagara Wheatfield (VI), West Genesee (III), Brockport (V), Sachem North (XI)

Division 2 – John Glenn (XI), Gouverneur (X), Plainedge (VIII), Seaford (VIII), Unatego-UV-F (IV), Sherburne Earlville (III), Salem-Cambridge (2), Chautauqua Lake (VI), Peru (VII), Nanuet (I), Port Jervis (IX), Wayne (V)

Tickets can be purchased ONLY online at www.gofan.co/NYSPHSAA. The cost is $12 each (includes fees).
The event will be streamed on the NFHS Network (via Track Wrestling), the official broadcasting partner of the NYSPHSAA State Championships.
