SYRACUSE — Third isn’t enough.
After being one place shy of qualifying for individual states in back-to-back seasons, Niagara Wheatfield senior Muntathar Abbas is hell-bent on punching his ticket to the NYSPHSAA championships for the first time.
Abbas placed third at the Section VI state qualifier in 2023 and 2024, but only the top two places earn a trip to states
