Cornell Wrestling Claims Its 44th Ivy League Title With Win Over Penn

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell wrestling earned its fourth consecutive Ivy League title with a 26-10 win over the Penn Quakers and Friedman Wrestling Center on Sunday afternoon.

Since 2000, Cornell has won the Ivy League title 22 times with this being the 44th total since 1956.

The first half of the match was rocky going for the Big Red. Tyler Ferrara and Meyer Shapiro each got ranked wins to put Cornell on the board.

After the half, the Big Red came out swinging. Julian Ramirez opened up with a 17-1 technical fall over Andy Troczynski to put Cornell into the lead for the first time in the dual.

Cornell didn't stop after that. No.11 Simon Ruiz upset No.10 Nick Incontrera in a 4-3 decision. Mikey Dellagatta then went to grab bonus points for the Big Red with a 10-0 major decision. Ashton Davis rounded out the match with a 9-6 decision to secure the win for Cornell.
