Niagara Community College wins the Northeast to earn a spot in the 2025 #NJCAAWrestle Men's Championship!

SUNY Niagara finished atop the standings at the Region III/Northeast District Championships on Saturday afternoon at Nassau Community College. The Thunderwolves had 105.0 points, which was 37.0 better than runner-up Nassau CC (68.0). It is the program's 27th regional title.
Sophomore Mike Catanzaro was named Most Outstanding Wrestler after finishing 2-0 at 133 pounds. He pinned Marek Sokolowski from Onondaga CC in the semifinals before earning a 13-6 decision over Shane Dobbins (Nassau CC) in the finals. Catanzaro is now 21-6 overall with 12 pins this season.
Veteran SUNY Niagara head coach Keith Maute was named Coach of the Year as well.

197 pounds: Bobby Ranger, 2nd
285 pounds: Laith Alsous, 1st
Nine grapplers (Downing, Catanzaro, Falsetti, Mathews, Syposs, Cicco, Poe, Ranger and Alsous) have qualified for the NJCAA Championships on March 7 & 8 inside the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
