WEST POINT, N.Y. – In its regular season finale, the Binghamton wrestling team was defeated by No. 23 Army West Point 30-6 Sunday at Christl Arena.
"Today was a tough dual," said Binghamton Head Wrestling Coach Kyle Borshoff. "We need to use this as a wake-up call to be prepared for the EIWAs. I liked our effort in the third period and felt that we were pushing the pace and action late. But we weren't prepared to wrestle in the early matches and that was the difference today."
Highlights
• Binghamton prevented Army West Point from picking up any bonus points throughout the first eight bouts of the dual.
• Brevin Cassella secured another ranked victory after he defeated No. 30 Dalton Harkins 3-1 at 174 lbs. Cassella finishes the regular season leading the Bearcats in both overall wins (22) and dual victories (14).
• Trailing Dakota Morris 2-0 with less than one minute to go in the third period and having allowed more than one minute of riding time, Fin Nadeau got an escape to bring the 157 lb. bout to 2-1. Nadeau then dove for Morris' legs to bring his opponent down to the mat. However, he was not credited with a go-ahead takedown before time ran out. The Bearcats threw out a challenge block, and after a review from the officials, Nadeau was awarded a takedown, giving him the win.
