Brockport, NY – Nick Franco is set to represent Brockport at the NCAA Division III Championships in Providence, R.I. at the Amica Mutual Pavilion on Friday, March 14th and Saturday, March 15th.
The prelims and consolation first round are set to start at 10am on Friday. Championship quarterfinals and consolation second round and third rounds will take off at 5pm Friday as well.

Season Recap – Franco had an impressive graduate season with the Golden Eagles taking home a spectacular series of wins throughout.
Starting off at the Messiah invitational, Franco competed against Ursinus, Liberty, Washington and Lee and Wheaton where he placed 6th at 285 and scored 11 team points.
In a dual meet at Oswego state, he contributed to a 30-17 win and won his matchup with a fall just 1:44 into the match.
Taking on the NYS collegiate championships, Franco took second scoring 15 points for Brockport with a win by fall in the quarterfinals, and a win by major decision in the semifinals which brought him to the first-place match.
The Golden Eagles attended a tri-meet at Alfred, taking on the Pioneers and Pitt Bradford. Here, Franco helped contribute to both wins after he picked up 6 points from a win by fall just 0:52 into the round. Up against Pitt-Bradford he earned himself a decision win of 8-1.
Brockport went on to host a tri-meet at home against Utica and NCCC. The Green and Gold shut out the Pioneers 55-0 and Franco dominated in his matchup with a win by fall in a quick 28 seconds.
Brockport had a strong 50-4 win against NCCC where Franco wrapped up the day with another quick pin taking the win with a fall in 1:24. Following this meet, he earned his first E8 Wrestler of the Week honor.
The team finished up at SUNYAC championships, clinching a third-place finish. Franco contributed a strong 18 points and a second-place finish, winning by fall in the champ round 1 and tech fall in the quarter and semifinals.
At a dual meet in Elmira Franco took care of business with a win by fall just 57 seconds into his matchup.
Franco earned his second E8 Wrestler of the Week after the John Summa Invite in Ohio. He brought the heat with a first-place finish scoring 27 points. In the champ rounds 1 and 2, he won by fall just 28 seconds in and at 1:35. He took two more wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals, moving on to the first-place match where he won by a 10-4 decision.
During senior night against St. John Fisher, Brockport took the close, one-point loss, but Franco won by a major decision of 9-1.
During regionals day 1, Franco won his first matchup of the day by a fall in just 47 seconds and in the quarterfinals, he earned another win by major decision of 13-5. The next day, he qualified for nationals after a third-place finish, after a huge 8-2 decision win all while snagging his third E8 Wrestler of the Week honor.
Franco is now set to return to the national stage for his second consecutive season in the 285 division for the Golden Eagles.
