Five Elmira College Wrestlers Earn NWCA Scholar All-America Honors

MANHEIM, PA. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) proudly announced the recipients of the 2025 NCAA Women's Scholar All-American Awards on Thursday. Elmira College was represented by Hazel Dahlquist, Abby Duke, Megan Edwards, Talia Robles, and Abbigale Williams.

These outstanding student-athletes have demonstrated excellence both on the mat and in the classroom, meeting one of the following academic and athletic criteria:

- A top eight placer at nationals and at least a 3.0 Cumulative GPA

- Competed in a minimum of 15 matches that are recorded in TRACKWRESTLING and has at least a 3.5 Cumulative GPA

- Was a national qualifier and has at least a 3.25 Cumulative GPA

"The NWCA is proud to honor these outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence on the mat and in the classroom," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer.

A two-time NWCA Scholar All-American for the Soaring Eagles, second-year wrestler Megan Edwards finished the season with a 13-9 overall record and qualified for her first nationals tournament after finishing fourth at the Region I Championships. Edwards went 4-2 at regionals with three pins, including one in 5:05 against Cailan Drake from Sacred Heart to secure her spots at nationals.

Senior Hazel Dahlquist, a two-time national qualifier for the Soaring Eagles, garnered her first Scholar All-American honors after matching her most overall wins in a season (12) to go along with a career-best nine pins. Dahlquist punched her tickets to nationals for a second time after finishing second at the Region I Championships.

Securing her first regional title for the Purple & Gold, junior Abby Duke was named to her first Scholar All-American team after finishing the season with a 14-6 record. Duke captured the 110-pound Region I title with a 3-0 mark and notched a pair of wins after punching her ticket for a second consecutive year to nationals.

First-year wrestler Talia Robles finished the season with a 15-11 record for the Soaring Eagles, as she recorded a fifth-place finish for Elmira at the Region I Championships. Robles recorded 10 pins and one tech fall victory, including five consecutive at the Adrian Invite in November.

First-year wrestler Abbigale Williams recorded a pair of pins for the Purple & Gold this season, as she notched her first win at the East Stroudsburg Open in November. Williams followed with her second pin at the Will Abele Open in January.

The NWCA brings the wrestling coaching community together to advance the sport and ensure that current and future generations have the opportunity to engage in a safe and educationally-based wrestling experience. This is primarily done by strengthening existing programs, creating new programs, and providing coaches with progressive educational opportunities.
