Six Teams Finish In Top 15, Five Wrestlers Capture Titles

FREDONIA — The Fredonia Holiday Classic wrestling tournament - which annually attracts several top programs from Pennsylvania and the Buffalo and Rochester areas — has proven to be quite a challenge for area teams over the years.

But, considering the high level of competition, several local teams, and Southern Tier wrestling in general, can call the 2007 tournament a success.

When the two-day tournament concluded Saturday night at Fredonia State’s Steele Hall, six local teams found themselves in the top 15, led by the Fredonia Hillbillies’ tie for fifth place.
