The Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame is honored to announce the Class of 2025
The individuals who will be receiving the Lifetime Service Award, Outstanding American Award and the Medal of Courage Award at the September 21, 2025 ceremony at the Double Tree Hotel in East Syracuse are:
The Lifetime Service Award are: Richard Meldrim – wrestling official from Section III; Marty Nichols – coach and wrestler at Ithaca College; John Richard – coach at Holland Patent High School Section III; John Scesa – coach at Pine Bush High School and official in Section IX; Harold Staulters – coach at Ballston Spa High School in Section II; William Swertfager – high school coach at Horace Greeley High School in Section I.
In addition, this year the Upstate New York Chapter will present Treavor Erney, the Outstanding American Award. Furthermore, the Chapter will award Dan Fire with the Medal of Courage Award for all the work that he does for wrestling in Section VI.

The Upstate New York Chapter is dedicated to the main goals of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame which are (1) recognizing excellence in wrestling in the Upstate New York area; (2) preserving the rich and colorful history of wrestling in Upstate New York and (3) inspiring future generations of New Yorkers to participate in one of the oldest and greatest sports in the world.
