Sibble Wins 110 as Warriors Finish Third at 5th ESU Open

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The No. 10 East Stroudsburg women's wrestling team opened its season at the fifth annual ESU Open at Koehler Fieldhouse on Sunday, placing five wrestlers and picking up a win from Teegan Sibble at 110.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sibble, a freshman making her collegiate debut, went 5-0 on the day with three wins by fall and the other two by technical falls. Sibble took down Elmira's Abby Duke in the championship match, winning 12-0 by technical fall.

Olivia Klein ended the day as the 103 runner-up, making it to the championship match by winning two times each by fall and technical fall. However, Lily Prendergasst from Mount Olive won the weight class with an 8-1 decision.

Gianna Amendola finished in third place out of the 131 class, starting the day with two wins by fall and a third win by technical fall. After being defeated in the semifinals, she bounced back with a 13-2 technical fall win against Carmen Bishop from Crown City Wrestling Club.

Maddie Westerberg also earned a third-place finish for ESU, working out of the 160 division. Westburg started with a win by fall, two wins by technical fall, and a fourth win by fall before losing by technical fall in the semifinals. In the third-place match, Westburg rebounded with a win by fall against Cameron Millsapps from Lehigh.

After dropping her opening match to Gannon's Lili Ujfalvi by decision, Ragan Retell rolled off five straight wins, including avenging her first-round loss by defeating Ujfalvi in the fifth-place match.
