Elmira's Duke Named AMCC Women's Wrestler of the Week

ELMRIA, N.Y. – Elmira College women's wrestler Abby Duke has been named the AMCC Women's Wrestler of the Week, announced by the office on Monday.

This weekend, the Soaring Eagles competed in the ESU Open where Duke collected a second-place finish in the 110-weight class, posting a 3-1 record on the day. Duke opened the day with a bye through the first round before posting an 11-0 tech fall against Madison Northern from Lincoln Memorial. She advanced on to face Kenaya Mwehy from Frostburg in the quarterfinals where she recorded her second tech fall, 10-0.

In the semifinals, Duke went head-to-head with Amelia Murphy from King and pinned her opponent in 2:37. In the championship match, she fell just short to Teegan Sibble from East Stroudsburg with a 12-0 tech fall.
