Soaring Eagles Collect Five Individual Champions at Ithaca College Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's wrestling traveled to compete in the Ithaca College Invitational this afternoon. The Soaring Eagles collected five first place finishers and a total of seven podium finishers. Individual champions included: Megan Edwards '27 (124-weight class), Tess Clabaugh '27 (138-weight class), Zoey Lints '27 (145-weight class), Talia Robles '28 (160-weight class), and Alexis Bilka-Durdon '28 (207-weight class). Podium finishers included: Gabby Bradigan '26 (138-weight class) and Ana Martins-Garcia '27 (124-weight class).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Edwards competed in the 124-bout and posted a 4-0 record on the day. She opened her matches with a trio of 10-0 tech falls against Kierra Willis from Alfred State, Alexis Haeusler from Alfred State, and Sophia Torian from Ithaca. In the championship match, she recorded the fall at 1:23 against Dianna Pineda from Alfred State to garner a first-place finish.

Clabaugh competed in the 138-weight class and posted a 2-0 record on the day. She opened the day with a fall in 3:46 against Christina Paluzzi from Alfred State. In her second match of the day, Clabaugh and teammate Bradigan called a forfeit to both advance forward. In her final match of the day, she marked her second fall against Jacqueline Mace from Utica in 2:30 to collect a first-place finish.

No. 3 ranked Lints competed in the 145-bout and posted a 4-0 record on the day. In her first match of the day, she marked a fall in 0:44 against Alexis Knickerbocker from Alfred State. Lints advanced forward to face Emily Brown from Alfred State where she recorded her second fall in 1:10. Lints received a bye in the third round before moving forward to compete against Hannah Kusmierczak from Utica, notching a 10-0 tech fall. She closed the day with her third pin of the day at 0:14 against Brooke Walsh from Alfred State to garner a first-place finish.

Robles competed in the 160-weight class and posted a 3-0 record on the day. She opened the day with a fall in 1:07 against Melina Georgas from Ithaca. In her second match, she pinned Jyla Johnson from Alfred State in 1:12 before pinning teammate Nyla Capen in 1:12 to collect a first-place finish.

Bilka-Durdon competed in the 207-bout and posted a 3-0 record on the day. She opened the day by pinning Evelyn Enriquez from Utica at 0:42. She advanced forward to face Hannah Grawn from Alfred State, where she posted her second fall at 1:21. In her final match, she collected her third fall at 1:30 against Cecilla Williams from Buffalo State to garner a first-place finish.

Bradigan competed in the 138-weight class and posted a 2-0 record on the day. In her first match, she recorded a 10-0 tech fall against Jacqueline Mace from Utica. In her second match, she notched the fall at 0:41 against Christina Paluzzi from Alfred State to collect a second-place finish.

Martins-Garcia competed in the 124-bout and posted a 1-3 record on the day. In her lone victory on the day, she notched a 10-0 tech fall over Octavia Dragotta from Utica to garner a sixth-place finish.

Capen was seen representing the Soaring Eagles in the 160-weight class.
