WEST POINT, NY – A sixth-place finish by Rafael Knapp highlighted the University at Buffalo wrestling team's day at the Black Knight Invite hosted by Army on Sunday.
Knapp went 4-2 in the 174-pound bracket. After dropping a close 5-3 decision to 2-seed Nick Fine of Columbia, Knapp rattled off three straight wins on the backside, before falling in the fifth-place match.
Twelve Bulls competed on the day with nine wrestlers posting at least one win. Aaron Lanster went 2-2 at 141 and Kelin Laffey went 2-2 at 165.
The Bulls are back in action on Dec. 5 when they open Mid-American Conference action at Bloomsburg.
