LCAA’s FINEST

GAINSEVILLE – Three-time NYS place finisher Joe Scott returns to the Letchworth wrestling lineup this season after winning the 124-pound sectional title a year ago.
Scott is a three-time NYS pace finisher who placed fifth at the state meet last year.

Head coach Weston Weaver has done a tremendous job of filling out this Letchworth lineup over the past eight years under his helm.
What a tremendous year Letchworth had in 2024-25.

Last year, Letchworth finished 22-2 with their only losses coming against D1 schools Hilton and Webster.

Letchworth had six different victories over league champions last year, including Byron-Bergen (GR), Le Roy (LCAA D-I), Canisteo-Greenwood (Steuben), Chautauqua Lake (Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic AA D-I), Gowanda (Chautauqua-Cattaraugus AA D-II), and Pioneer (Erie County Conference D3).
Letchworth finished as LCAA Tournament champs and LCAA DII League champs.

They also finished second at Class B2 sectionals.

Letchworth had six grapplers place at Supersectionals last season, and they all return to the mats this winter, including Scott, along with Denison Johnson (4th), Dylan Smith (6th), Justin Mann (4th), Gunner Kemp (5th), and Racquel Hartman (5th for the girls).

Also, Braiden Schroeder and Bradley Weis, who competed at Supers last year, are looking to make the podium this year.

Top newcomers include Colben Morse (8th grade), Easton Willet (7th grade) and Levi Wilcox (9th grade).

“We are looking to improve on last year's success, where we secured County and League Championships,” coach Weaver said. “Our schedule will have us chasing the toughest competition so that we can find the toughest competition throughout the state. Several wrestlers have been putting in work during the off-season, and we are excited to see it pay off. It's going to take a lot of hard work, but the squad is looking forward to putting Letchworth's strong wrestling tradition on display this year.”
