LCAA’s FINEST

BATH – Former 2008 NYS wrestling champion Cody Hutcheson, a Bath-Haverling graduate, was inducted into the LCAA Wrestling Hall of Fame Saturday.

Incredibly, Hutcheson captured 26 different varsity tournaments over his career, which didn’t include his sectional and state titles he won.

Hutcheson was a five-time LCAA champion, which included being named a three-time MOW award winner at the LCAA Championships, including 2006, 2007, and 2008, the only LCAA wrestler to have ever earned the MOW honor three separate times.

He was also a three-time Section V champion and a three-time NYS place finisher, including his 2008 state championship.

While in high school, Cody’s overall record was 224-32.

Cody was also a standout football player for head coach Wayne Carroll’s Rams.

Hutcheson was also a four-year wrestler for Cornell University.

He was the 2010 New York State Collegiate champion at 174 pounds.

While he was at Cornell, they won the Ivy League title all four years, and they also captured the EIWA (Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association) Championships all four years as well.

Cornell finished second, second, fourth and fifth at the NCAA Division 1 Championships.

He graduated from Cornell’s Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and is an Engineer for Corning Inc., where he has been instrumental in Corning being awarded patents on his projects.
