Ithaca Women’s Wrestling Competes at the Quad Cities D3 Invitational for the First-Time Ever

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Ithaca College women's wrestling team competed in the Quad Cities D3 Invitational this weekend hosted by Augustana College.

The Bombers had four wrestlers competing with Melina Georgas (145) going 2-2, Sophia Torian (124) 1-2, Arianna Leo (117) 0-2 and Delaney Bisaillon (124) also finished 2-2.

Bisaillon opened the weekend in a high scoring bout against Nadia Thomas of North Central, taking it in a 19-17 decision. The first year followed it up with a 12-1 tech fall over Elmira's Jala Singleton to punch a ticket into a quarterfinals matchup. She would fall in an 11-0 tech fall to Sophie Bowers (Wartburg) and also was pinned on Sunday by Bree Swenson (Dubuque).

Georgas who also went 2-2, beginning her weekend by pinning Dawn DeGood (Alma) and would then earn a 14-4 tech fall over Elmira College's Grace Johnson. The IC first year would then drop her quarterfinals bout to Simpson's Annelise Obermark in a 10-0 tech fall and was unable to battle back through her consolation dropping a fall (1:18) to Lana Zimmerman.

Next up, Ithaca will return to dual action hosting both Nassau Community College and Wilkes University at 6 p.m. inside Ben Light Gymnasium on Friday, February 13.
