WAY-CO - Boys DWC wrestling hosted the Section V Class B1 tournament this past Saturday with 13 additional teams.
DWC would be a powerhouse among some high caliber teams nipping close at the top 3 spot all day falling short with a very solid 5th place overall.
DWC would have 2 champions, one runner up, two 3rd place finishes, and three 5th place finishers sending 7 guys to the postseason who look to punch their tickets to the big show in Albany at the end of the month.
Wyatt Sartori would also pick up the lightweight MOW award.
Coach Walker: "A long great day!!! The crew continues to show up big and make us proud. There's a few things we need to tweak for each guy this week and just hit the mats hard. They all know the goal and what's ahead. Now it's time to see men rise and conquer. When I see the best versions of our guys there's no stopping them from what they want to take. Working on the mental game is just as important as the physical part. That and being healthy and prepared for 3rd period wins at the end of any given Saturday is what's key to the crucial victories others can't seem to achieve. Mark my words, big things are coming! For now it's back to work and preparing these young men for battle."

The team will travel to Bath next weekend to compete in the State Qualifier and try to place top 2 in their prospective weight classes to get the invite to States. It's been many years since the program has sent this many guys to the Qualifier and it gets even more interesting knowing this team has the chance to send multiple to states this year and make history yet again.
All of this - and not one of these guys is a senior!
