North Tonawanda has found its next head wrestling coach—and it’s a familiar face.
Anthony Ricchiazzi is coming home to lead the Lumberjacks, returning to the program where he once competed as a wrestler.
After graduating from the University of Georgia, Ricchiazzi began his coaching career at Spaulding High School in Georgia, where he spent six seasons. He then returned to Western New York and joined the Williamsville East program, coaching there for seven seasons.
Ricchiazzi took over as head coach at Akron in 2017, leading the program through the 2021-22 season. From 2022 through 2026, he served as co-head coach of the Barker-Roy-Hart program.
Now, after years of coaching experience across Western New York, Ricchiazzi is back where it all started—this time leading the Lumberjacks.
And he isn't coming home without some lofty goals.
“With the Jacks having never won a league title, we have our sights on capturing just that in year number one,” Ricchiazzi said.
The Lumberjacks have a former wrestler back in their corner, and he’s bringing plenty of experience and ambition with him.
Congratulations to Coach Ricchiazzi and the North Tonawanda wrestling program. It should be an exciting new chapter for the Jacks.
