I made all the arguments that have been written in this space over the winter:
The two-division system is bad for the sport because a tournament should identify one champion; two championship matches contested at the same time is overkill for fans and unfair to wrestlers who have to share the spotlight; the divisions are meaningless as small schools compete in the large-school division; one 32-wrestler bracket would be better than two 16-wrestler brackets; and spectators are cheated out of potentially memorable title matches.
