CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ohio State sophomore Kyle Snyder could set yet another precedent today if he wins the Hodge Trophy, given to the top college wrestler in the nation.

Snyder was a mere 11-0 and won the NCAA Division I heavyweight championship this season. No previous Hodge Trophy winner had fewer than 29 matches or victories. Hodge recipients have averaged 38 victories.

But no other Hodge Trophy winner blazed a trail like Snyder did this year. Not even past greats such as Cael Sanderson, Logan Stieber or the trophy's namesake, Dan Hodge, began his career like Snyder has.
