PENDLETON — Despite a valiant effort, Falconer came up just short against Pioneer, 33-32, in the Division II final of the first ever Section VI Dual Meet Team Championships on Saturday at Starpoint High School.

The championship dual meet was all knotted up at 32, but Pioneer won via tiebreaker after recording one more victory during the battle between two teams that were ranked inside the top 10 in the latest Division II rankings released by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
