Due to blizzard-like conditions outside, Amherst's wrestling team only practiced on Jan. 28 prior to Saturday's Section VI Class A Tournament.

That did not stop the Tigers from qualifying nine wrestlers for the upcoming Section VI Division I state qualifier Saturday at Starpoint.

The 15 wrestlers who competed at the class tournament accumulated 160 points to place third overall.

Amherst coach Dennis Bauer said nine qualifiers is the second-most the team has had after qualifying 11 last year and seven two years ago.
