Maple Grove eighth-grader Maddie Wadsworth, center, recently won the 99-pound championship at the inaugural New York State Public High School Athletic Association Girls Wrestling Championships on Feb. 16 at Niagara County Community College in Sanborn. Wadsworth carried a 17-12 varsity record into the weekend before earning a pin and an injury forfeit for the title. Jamestown's Skylynn Tomlinson took second place in the weight class after a pin in her first match.
