Williamsville South junior wrestler Jaden Friel took runner-up at 120 pounds at Saturday's Section VI Division I State Qualifier at Starpoint High School.

Friel, who entered the tournament as the third seed, pinned the sixth seed, junior Elijah Greenough of Niagara Wheatfield in 4 minutes, 57 seconds in the quarterfinals, beat the second seed, senior Adam Kowalski of Frontier, 8-5, in the semifinals, and was pinned by the top seed, eighth-grader Cameron Catrabone of Williamsville North, in 1:44, in the finals.
