Binghamton Continues Winning Streak with Victory vs. Hofstra

NEWS

Bearcats six conference wins are their most since 2018-19

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Binghamton wrestling team posted three shutouts and three technical falls en route to a 31-6 win over Hofstra Friday at David S. Mack Physical Education Center.

"Really happy with the team effort tonight," said Binghamton Head Coach Kyle Borshoff. "Cory Day did a great job to cap the night against a ranked opponent. I am looking forward to our dual tomorrow."

Highlights
This is Binghamton's sixth conference win of the season, the most the Bearcats have had since the 2018-19 season when they picked up eight.
In the most anticipated match of the night, No. 16 Cory Day shut out No. 21 Keaton Kleuver 9-0 to secure the victory for the Bearcats. Day previously defeated Kleuver 3-2 when the latter was wrestling for Minnesota back in 2021.
Brevin Cassella, Jacob Nolan, and Lou DePrez each recorded a technical fall. The three technical falls are the most the Bearcats have recorded in a dual so far this season.
Nolan's victory makes him the third Bearcat wrestler to reach at least 20 wins this season, joining Cassella and Day, who both have 21. It is the third time in Nolan's collegiate career that he has reached 20 wins in a season, a feat he also accomplished in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
This is the third time this season that the Bearcats have scored 31 team points against an opponent. Binghamton also reached that mark in its victories against LIU on Nov. 17 and Buffalo on Jan. 13.
